"THE POWER OF 3"

I am always working so please forgive the constant repeat of the phrase, "whilst at work". So this past Saturday saw the power of three have its full effect on me. The below three ladies walked in and their ensembles all struck me. Armed with glasses of vino I introduce to you Viki Parnell, Vanessa Collins and Olivia Crease...

I will start with Viki Parnell, Regional Sales Manager for Sky, is wearing a simple black jacket with a slight shimmer matched with a metallic skirt in gold. The shimmer in the jacket really is a good choice to pair with the glitter of the skirt. Her ensemble is from All Saints.

Keeping the glamour coming is Vanessa Collins in her floral print blouse with a hint of romance and femininity paired with a pair of grey shorts with organic tie belt. The colour in the grey shorts enhances the colours of the flowers in the blouse, especially the shades of pink. All from Ted Baker.

Bringing up the rear in the glamour stakes is my personal favourite Olivia Crease, an Adjudicator for Financial Ombudsman Services. In ASOS this dusty pink number is bound to get you up there amongst the style gurus. The feathered skirt is uba feminine. Like the night version of Carrie's ensemble in the opening credits to Sex and the City.

The girls all mentioned how they all felt that their outfits didn't work but girls let me say 3 words...

...Werk It Girls!

"ORIENT EXPRESS"

Lately I have really become aware at how an ensemble contributes to the ambiance and atmosphere of where you are.

Many a night whilst on my way home I will be struck by the gorgeous dresses floating above platform 2, the sound of classic jazz greeting guests and the shining glassware reflecting in the windows of the Orient Express.

I often see the staff greeting customers with wide smiles and white gloves guiding the odd Jimmy Choo aboard the choo choo. I have always wanted to picture them then the other day I got the chance. Interrupting their usual process of greeting the guests celebrating or just enjoying the luxuries of life I shot the very dapper and smart Matt (Steward) and Andrew (Chief Steward).

Welcome aboard ensem-BLAH Gents...

Imagine the glamour aboard the Orient Express if from the beginning you are met with such tailored uniforms and dapper staff.

If you get the chance then enjoy the jazz tracks.

"ROSEY APPLES"

Have you ever met a real life size Jean Paul Gaultier bottle or skin as white as snow? Whilst working my usual shift on a Saturday night one of the Burlesque Dancers stood out.

Ladies and Gents, a local girl from Maidstone, Kent, a short walk to her stage, a spiralling flag act and a baking course I give you Miss Rosey Apples...

With porcelain skin, courteosy of factor 50 sunscreen, a way of making River Island and Primark look like Haute Couture I seriously recommend you get yourself to one of her shows.

"Take a bit and all your dreams will come true".

LIV, LOVE, LONDON

It is not often that you get to spend a night and a day with a dear friend that’s travelled from Australia, stopped in New York, a trip to Minnesota, amongst other destinations found herself in her London. Ladies and Gent’s I give you Liv, Love, London herself…Olivia Nolan...

Olivia has just recently left her busy life of being a Fashion Agent and working for a Perth based fashion agencies representing over ten brands. A talented lady at styling, an individual eye for fashion and generally that person who just suits everything.

Whilst sat in “Bloody French” a modern, contemporary restaurant in Westbourne Grove, London, where for the past week you could bring your own bottle (No Bloody Corkage Fee), I don’t know if it was the wine or the light but Olivia stuck out more than ever.

Her glasses are the best invention since festivals and a purchase she bought that day on Portobello Road amongst the stalls. Festival Glasses, where a single tortoise shell frame can do a John Lennon or a hip Boy London ensemble. How you ask yourself? Well with a pack that smells like a new beach ball you get a total of six different coloured lenses all UV Protected perfect to compliment any outfit you decide to wear whilst lapping up the sun in a muddy field somewhere.

We slide down her shiny black hair and find ourselves resting on her shoulders of her very own leather jacket by Viktoria and Woods, the Phoenix jacket, paired with a chambray shirt again by Vik. A brand that Olivia used to represent. The leather jacket has organic lapels that create a brilliant layer under an over sized coat.

We take our gaze to her jeans, to a blue rose garden. The print is loud and strong and is sure to allure you with the beauty of the blue roses. The look is drawing together so well. The colours are represented in every item of clothing giving the ensemble a sense of consistency. The jeans are by Bec & Bridge.

All the brands mentioned above are the makings of the very talented designers of Australia. Look out and go walkabout with them below:

Viktoria and Wood:

Olivia is debating what to do with her life next but if you knew the girl you would know that she has an endless pit of talent for fashion. Olivia do us all a favour a open your agency, share with the rest of the world those Australian brands. The gems down under.

Olivia we thank you.

London's Ensem-BLAH

When I first moved over to the UK from Zimbabwe I travelled up to London to meet some friends. The last time I was in London I was ten. I never really appreciated its ways.

I met my friend at Waterloo East dressed in typical Zimbabwe style, board shorts and a tee...dare I say it! I got off the train and waited by the Costa. I slowly found myself backing up towards the wall then eventually found a quiet spot behind a pillar.

I was amazed at how fast everyone was walking and couldn't understand one thing. Why was everyone wearing black? My phone rang and it was my friend asking why I was hiding behind the pillar.

I know work in London as a Buyers Clerk and found that I too have come to love it ways and styles. To be fair it's not that hard too. I now have copious amounts of black and I'm afraid to say this but it doesn't show up dirty that easily. London is beautiful and a lot cleaner than most cities however the girl's got a dirty mouth.

So the other day catching my train home I was waiting at the platform. The platform opposite started to fill up and sure enough it struck me again. London's Ensem-BLAH. I snapped this picture just before their train arrived. True to their city and her uniform they left for the night only to return to their regiments .

London's Ensem-BLAH I love you.
