"PARIS, Chic & Trendy"

I have heard so many people say that they went to Paris and were disappointed at the fact that for one of the fashion capitals of the world, the Parisian's don't know how to dress. The thing is the french invented, "je nais se qua," and people think that they cover it with "je nais se what?!?!"

My feeling is that the designer's go to Paris to be inspired and work on their next collections.

Having been to Paris once and dying to go again I was shocked at how expensive everything was. I conjured up this idea that we would find a local bakers, get some cheese and wine then lounge in the gorgeous gardens. We lived on McDonald's for three days, those "golden arches and diet big mac's" saved our wallets. The reason being is we were in the centre of Paris on a budget where all the tourists hanged out. We were all been fooled by the charm of Paris and falling for the ludicrous prices. If only we had known that the good places are down the side streets and allies. The good places to eat as well as shop. My advice is, go well planned and researched.

My mother gave me this booked called, "PARIS, Chic and Trendy" by Adrienne Ribes-Tiphaine. In the hope that I would be able to return and find those special things whether it be something for me or simple inspiration. The book is petite and could easily fit in your day bag and has a variety of boutiques that offer something for everyone. Yes, predominately aimed at a female audience remember gents that you'll find something special for you, just ask.

I give you...

The book breaks it down by "arrondissement." From the 1st all the way to the 18th with a section for the missed gems found under, "Additional Boutiques." It covers everything from Designer Studios, Hip Boutiques and most exciting Vintage Shops. It covers all categories of fashion as well, from jewellery, accessories and shoes. Giving a  short and well executed description of whats to offer it makes it easy to plan what you are looking for and not waste any time looking for it. Talking about time, it gives you the days the shops are open and times. How handy is that?

If you are a fashionista or fashionisto then get it, buy a Euro star ticket and enjoy. As the author puts it, " you'll be sure to walk out with a smile on your face secure in the knowledge that you definitely won't look like anyone else," (MAMIE pg 138 review)

Go out and add to your closet of ensem-BLAH's!

xoxo
